Hot Spring Disclaimer:
The Olympic Hot Spring pools are a bit silty and have some forest sediment in the pools. Some pools are hotter and cleaner than others. Since the pools can be hot, visitors do have to be careful with how long they soak and make sure they bring plenty of water and snacks for hydration and energy.
We’ve had people of all kinds make make this adventure and because it isn’t the easiest day adventure, everyone has said it makes it once-in-a-lifetime special! Be prepared for some exertion and a wonderful feeling of accomplishment at the end of your adventure to the natural Olympic Hot Springs!
The natural springs are now accessible through a bypass trail that goes around the road wash out. It’s mostly paved road going up to them with a few creeks crossing on the trail parts. The view you get on this trail is unbeatable! Going along the river and through the lower foothills, you get the amazing feeling of having the country all to yourself. See the beautiful Glines Canyon, home to the largest dam removal in modern history!
The pools are very enjoyable to soak in and feel amazing after the beautiful ride. With Pedego’s powerful motors, you can cruise up hills with ease and save your energy for the destination at the springs.
Hot Spring Route Disclaimer:
The by-pass trail that goes around the washed out section of the hot springs road is rather tricky with a bit of maneuvering the bikes as you walk them along the rocky single lane trail. It may require you to lift your ebike over a fallen log or two. We do not hide the fact that this portion of the trail isn’t easy to navigate. This section is roughly under a 1/4 mile out of the trip.
The National Park does not allow bikes to be ridden the entire way to the Hot Springs. The bikes may be ridden to the Boulder Creek Trailhead (8 miles) where renters can lock the bikes to a tree (bike locks included with rental/tour). The rest of the trail (2.2 miles) must be hiked on foot. There is minimal elevation gain on this trail with three creek crossings.
The Olympic Hot Springs
Access the hidden and remote gem of the Elwha Valley. Challenging to access on foot, following a river flood and road closer, eBikes make this unique natural wonder accessible in a day trip for the active nature enthusiast.
The Olympic Hot Springs are a collection of small natural hot spring pool touched up the Elwha valley in pristine wilderness forest. The remote nature of the hot springs means that this trail is tranquil - noticeably quiet and meditative compared to more populated routes.
Before bathing in the rejuvenating waters of the mineral hot springs, take a your time riding and walking through the deep, quiet forest.
